This piece was inspired by Georges Méliès’ 1908 short film Seein’ Things. As one of his lost films, the original is not known to exist in any archive. Instead, all we have is a brief description detailing how a partygoer comes home very drunk to find that his drunkenness makes him see two of everything. Through this piece, I wanted to explore what might happen if this vision impairment went beyond the mere duplication of objects to become a bit fantastical and perhaps even grotesque.
